Reporting a false positive is a vital part of maintaining an accurate security posture. While our detection engine is highly precise, certain custom scripts or unique administrative tools may occasionally be flagged.
This guide explains how to submit these files to our security research team for review and reclassification.
How to Report a False Positive
If Monarx has flagged a file that you know to be safe and legitimate, you can submit it to our team for a manual review. Once submitted, our analysts will inspect the file. If it is verified as safe, we will update our global classifications to ensure it—and similar files—are not flagged in the future.
Our Commitment: 1 Business Day SLA
We understand that security blocks can impact your workflow. Our team commits to reviewing and reclassifying submitted files within one business day.
Method 1: Using the Public Upload Portal
This method is ideal if you have the file on your local machine or want to submit a file that hasn't been scanned by the agent yet.
Navigate to https://app.monarx.com/upload.
Drag and drop the file into the upload zone or click to browse your local directory.
Provide any additional context (optional) that might help our analysts understand the file's purpose.
Method 2: Directly from the Monarx Web App
If the file has already been detected and is visible in your dashboard, you can report it directly without needing to download or re-upload the file.
Log in to the Monarx Dashboard.
Navigate to the FILES module on the left-hand sidebar.
Locate the specific file you believe is incorrectly classified.
Click the three dots menu (⋮) on the far right of the file row.
Select REPORT FILE CLASSIFICATION AS FALSE POSITIVE.
Fill out the reason for your the False Positive report.
What Happens Next?
Once you submit a file, it enters our research queue.
Review: Our team analyzes the code and behavior.
Reclassification: If the file is safe, we move it to a "Clean" state globally.
Resolution: The detection will be cleared from your dashboard automatically once the global update reaches your server.
