Whitelisting is a critical tool for developers and administrators who use custom scripts, proprietary tools, or specific administrative files that—while safe—may trigger security alerts due to their high-level permissions or behavior.
By whitelisting a file, you ensure that Monarx allows its execution without interruption while maintaining full protection over the rest of your environment.
How to Request File Whitelisting
If you have a file or a set of files that you would like to permanently exempt from security flags, you can submit a whitelisting request to our security team. Our researchers will verify the safety of the code and apply the necessary exemptions.
Our Commitment: 1 Business Day SLA
Whitelisting requests are prioritized to ensure your development workflow remains uninterrupted. Our team commits to reviewing and processing all whitelisting requests within one business day.
Method 1: Submit a Ticket via the Support Portal
This is the recommended method for non-urgent or bulk whitelisting requests (e.g., an entire custom plugin folder).
Visit the Monarx Support Center or login to https://app.monarx.com
Click on the Chatbot Icon located in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.
Select the option to Whitelisting & False Positives.
In your ticket, please include:
The Full File Path(s) of the file(s) you wish to whitelist.
A brief description of the file's purpose.
Method 2: Start a Live Chat Session
For immediate assistance or if you have questions regarding a specific detection that is currently impacting your site, you can speak directly with a support representative.
Navigate to Monarx.com or the Support Center.
Click the Chatbot Icon in the lower right-hand corner.
Choose the option to Contact Support.
From the options select I want to report a False Positive or request Whitelisting a file.
Then select Request a file to be Whitelisted.
And finally simply add the full path to the file or files that you'd like us to whitelist. Please be sure to add an description or details regarding your request so our team can expedite your request. See an example below:
Whitelisting vs. False Positive Reporting
Report as False Positive: Use this if you believe Monarx has made a mistake in identifying a file as malicious. This helps improve our global detection engine.
Whitelisting Request: Use this for "gray-ware" or custom administrative tools (like file managers or database shells) that are technically "safe" in your specific environment but generally carry high security risks.
