Overview of Monitoring

Written by Salvador Aguilar

This article gives an overview of the Monitoring page in the Monarx web app, which powers Monarx's Dark Web Monitoring service.

What Is Dark Web Monitoring?

Dark Web Monitoring extends Monarx's visibility beyond the server to identify compromised credentials, leaked data, and other exposures linked to your customers' domains and email addresses — surfacing exposures across large-scale breach and dark web datasets so they can be acted on before attackers exploit them.

The Monitoring Page

In the Monarx web app, this service lives under Monitoring, which is organized into three modules:

1. Breaches

Lists all the breaches Monarx monitors. This is where you can see the breach sources being tracked and drill into details for any breach relevant to your registered sites and emails.

2. Sites

Where customers register websites for tracking. Registered sites are monitored for:

  • Reputation (Google Safe Browsing status)

  • Dark web monitoring (exposure tied to the domain)

3. Emails

Where customers add email addresses to be monitored. Any email added here is checked against every breach Monarx ingests, and you'll be alerted if it turns up in a new or existing breach.
